1. Design & Cost Estimate
Estimate and design is the first step in the custom home build process. This step ensures that we design a home that meets the specific needs of you and your family. Do you already have an idea of what you and your family will need in your new home? Have you considered the changing needs of your family as you grow well into the future?
We will work closely with you to design and build a home that will meet and exceed your expectations for years to come. Whether you are looking for a sleek modern design or a contemporary twist on the traditional, we will make it happen.
Maybe you already have drawings and you need someone to bring your vision to life? We will work with your designer to ensure a seamless build process from beginning to end.
At this stage, we will provide you with a full cost estimate based on your initial drawings.
2. Planning & Permits
You’ve likely been thinking about the many things that need to be considered when planning your custom home. We’ll meet you where you are in your journey to ensure the best possible outcome. We will work with you to develop a polished plan and secure all the necessary permits for the entire build.
Whether you’re at the beginning stages of planning or you already have drawings and permits, CA Coastal Construction can meet you at any point in this process to help make it seamless.
Planning is one of the most important phases in constructing your dream home. We take this seriously and walk you through all you need to know to create a flawless plan that will guide the rest of the process.
3. Construction & Tracking
Once we’ve completed renderings, construction drawings, and gathered all of the appropriate permits, we’ll begin the exciting phase of construction on your new dream home.
Our team understands the varying Vancouver Island terrain and we are well-equipped with the expertise and local relationships to ensure a seamless and efficient construction process.
We will host regular check-ins with you and your family as it suits your schedule to ensure that you are involved in the progress of your custom build from beginning to end. Do you live somewhere else and are unable to check-in on the progress in person? Our team will ensure you get regular photos and video of construction progress.

4. Execution & Delivery
We pride ourselves on bringing the big picture of your custom home to life while ensuring even the finest details are considered. From fascia to flooring and everything in between, we work with you to deliver a beautiful, move-in ready space.
We will work with our interior designers or yours, if you prefer, to bring warmth, comfort, and familiarity to your custom home that begins the day you move in.
Our relationship does not stop there. CA Coastal Construction provides a BC Housing approved two-five-ten year warranty on all builds and we are just a call or message away if you need us.
